As our founder Artistic Director and Conductor Toby Purser passes the baton to his successor, Gary Matthewman, Orion enters an exciting new chapter. Now is a wonderful time to get involved and support us as we continue our work, giving the best young players the chance to shine on the London stage.

Orion Orchestra receives no government funding or subsidy, and we rely solely on the generous support of individuals to make our work happen.

Orion's family of supporters

Orion Orchestra’s ‘Heavenly Bodies’ are the generous individuals who support us in nurturing the UK’s most talented young musicians, giving them the professional training, mentorship and opportunities that help to bridge the gap between music college and their professional careers.

We don’t call them Heavenly Bodies for nothing: everything we do would be absolutely impossible without their support. That’s why we make a number of commitments to all of our supporters:

  • All Heavenly Bodies are invited to exclusive HB drinks parties and events, with music provided by Orion musicians.

  • We acknowledge the support of all Heavenly Bodies in each of our own concert programmes, as well as permanently on our website.

  • We make sure to keep in touch with you via our e-newsletter, ensuring that Heavenly Bodies are invited to all of our concerts, and receive regular updates on how your donation is being used to help young musicians.
